Chicken Bone

Far from the oddest foreign object ever to be found in a human body, the fact that this chicken bone appears to be firmly lodged in the individual’s trachea is still hard to believe. And how someone could manage to get it there is another mystery.

Cutlery

Yes, someone swallowed batteries. In the x-ray that can be found partway down this page you will see 4 size A4 batteries in this patient’s stomach. Technically, there’s the broken off handle of a spoon in there too.

A child swallowed a penny. This is one of those things that every parent fears. Here is the image of the penny stuck in the child’s esophagus.

Metallic Objects

The patient depicted in this x-ray was being treated for depression which explains this sad story. The x-ray shows 14 metallic objects in hid body. The objects are nails, washers, and the like.

Toothbrush

This image shows a toothbrush inside a patient’s body. It is not always easy to see at first but look for the pattern of the bristles a little up and to the right from the center of the image and you’ll see it. Or just scroll your cursor over it and find it that way.

Scissors

This x-ray is an especially disturbing one. The fact that there are scissors inside this patient’s body is one thing. The fact that they got there by being left in her body after she had surgery is quite another. The inches were 6.7 inches long so you would think they would be hard to miss.

Knife

This image comes with another unbelievable story. The 16 year old boy depicted here was stabbed over an altercation involving a computer game. With the help of friends, he walked to the hospital to seek treatment.

Drill Bit

This x-ray shows a man who landed face first on an 18 inch long drill bit. Ow.

Pencil

This image shows a four year old girl who fell on a pencil. This x-ray of a penetrating wound to the eye will make it impossible for you to look at a pencil the same way again.

These are 10 weird x-rays of objects stuck inside the human body. These objects got inside the human body in different ways and are all pretty disturbing. It is neat to be able to see what’s going on inside the body in this way though.

A skirting simple to install but effective consists of panels, cover rail, and flotation rods. The rods allow the skirting to rise or fall with the freezes and thaws.

You need an electric drill with 1/8-inch bit, tin snips, and a 1/4-inch nutdriver. Start at your home’s right front corner. Snap a few of the panels together. Position them at the corner.

Carefully mark locations for fastening the rods. Drill the screw holes a few inches above the top of the skirting so there’s room for movement from frost heave. The height of the rods determines how much heave you can allow for. Drop the rods through the skirting channels. Secure each rod to the home, using a long sheet-metal screw with ¼-inch hex head.

Install skirting, with access doors, around the entire home. If the skirting is not a self-ventilating variety, install vent panels.

Now add the protective cover rail. Begin at the right front corner again. Cover the top edge of the skirting with the cover rail. Use tin snips to form corners. Attach the protective rail with short sheet- metal screws.
